Michael Christmas Announces ‘Role Model’ National Tour

Since the long-awaited release of Michael Christmas’ third album, Role Model, fans have been flocking towards the Boston native, praising him for the honesty and quality of his latest full-length effort. All of this success arrives deservedly so for Christmas, and in order to celebrate, he’s taking this stellar album on the road with a national tour.

Beginning September 5th in Columbia, Missouri and lasting all the way until November 2nd in Miami, Florida, this tour also features fellow Boston native Vintage Lee as well as the supporting act Matt & Kim. Select dates will include appearances from Sylvan LaCue and none other than the legend himself, OG Swaggerdick.

Vintage Lee Joins NBA 2KTV For A New Interview

Last summer was home to a number of huge wins for Boston, two of which took place on the soundtrack of the brand new NBA 2K game, where Vintage Lee’s “Hennythings Possible” and Cousin Stizz’s “Living Like Khaled” made the cut. Today, following this legendary placement, Vintage Lee joins 2KTV for a brand new interview alongside the host, Rachel A. DeMita.

During their conversation, the two speak on Boston, Kyrie Irving, Lee’s favorite Celtics player of all time, her origins as an artist, and much, much more. For any fans of either Lee herself or Boston sports as a whole, this is a must-watch, so be sure to click play at the link below and get ready for new Vintage Lee music on the way later this year!

Spotify Releases Vintage Lee “FLOW Freestyle”

In celebration of Women’s History Month, Spotify has been putting together a series of FLOW freestyles from some of our favorite female artists. On that list, of course, is none other than the Roxbury pimp herself, Vintage Lee. In the video posted by the Spotify Twitter below, Lee jumps in for a quick freestyle, making sure to communicate her unmistakable charisma and seamless flows, bar after bar. You can watch it below.

Vintage Lee Announces First Headlining Show 2/8

At this point, it goes without saying that Vintage Lee is one of Roxbury’s most promising young stars. Between the widespread success of her debut mixtape, P.I.M.P., her single “Hennythings Possible” landing a spot on the NBA 2K18 soundtrack, and the numerous noteworthy singles that have continued to fuel her wave throughout the past few months, Lee cannot miss right now. Her hometown has embraced this talent with open arms, and today, she’s back on our pages with the announcement of her debut headlining show, “Pimp Paradise”.

Set for February 8th at the Middle East Upstairs, this show will feature additional performances from Valley and HighKeyRandom with the SuperSmashBroz and Fleeaveli on the ones and twos. This is a huge moment not only for Lee’s career but also for Roxbury, as it shows the fact that the city’s local scene refuses to be ignored right now. Venues in Boston may not quite see the vision yet, but when this show sells out, it will be sure to help to open their eyes in investing in local talents and the local fanbase.

Vintage Lee – “Hennythings Possible” [Music Video]

Vintage Lee has undoubtedly established herself as a top runner in Boston’s budding rap scene, marking her wave with numerous hit singles and her 2017 full-length debut, P.I.M.P. Add this to the extraordinary feat of getting her Tee-WaTT produced banger, “Hennythings Possible” on the NBA 2K18 soundtrack, and you now have a solid understanding of the incredible rap resume that Lee has built up so well. No stranger to our pages, the Roxbury native is back on Graduation Music today with the visual companion for the aforementioned standout track.

For starters, this video illustrates and embraces the charismatic presence that Vintage Lee has shown to be with a carefully-crafted touch as she drives around Roxbury in a luxurious BMW and wears her matching flex-worthy outfit (BTW that sportscoat is too clean). Personally, I find these A_Ciggs & Lauren Brimeyer-directed visuals to be the perfect match for such an unforgiving song, and this new release only reminded me of the sky-high potential that Lee truly possesses.

The Top 50 New England Songs of 2017

Looking back, 2017 was a year of immense growth for New England and specifically Massachusetts’ budding music scene. We were fortunate enough to see the rise of many new talents as well as watch some of the more established artists prosper in their own ways, and frankly, it was inspiring to us to see the work that the artists, the producers, the photographers, the graphic designers, the mixers, the managers, etc. have been putting in. Without all of these people playing their respective roles, our scene wouldn’t be where it is today.

Vintage Lee – “SPiCE UP” [Prod. Tee-WaTT x M. Ali]

2017 has been Vintage Lee’s year. Coming through with the full court press on each and every one of her releases as of yet, the Roxbury native is running up the score and keeping the success coming with her newest song “SPiCE UP”. From the moment I saw that Tee-WaTT x M. Ali production credit, I knew I was in for a hit. And that’s just what I got.

“SPiCE UP” is a flex-filled canvas of raw charisma and lyricism, in essence, furthering the pimp character that we have become so fond of with a great deal of confidence and skill. Between an endless supply of quotable bars and ample personality within every word, it’s simply an honor to watch such a talented artist offer her fans more than just some songs; With the way she packages herself and keeps it honest on every track, Vintage Lee is offering her fans a lifestyle.

She’s a textbook example of how to create your own wave, and it’s becoming clear that this wave hasn’t even hit its prime yet. There are worlds of success to come for Vintage Lee in the near future, and she’s ready to show it off to the world. To put it simply, this rising star has the sauce and she’s not giving it up by any means. Don’t sleep, give “SPiCE UP” a listen below.

617Sessions: Class of 2017

The Boston Music Awards recently uploaded their first installment of 617Sessions, a music series that they’ve created with the focus being providing local artists with professional studio time. The playlist doesn’t have a uniform sound, however, with that being said, each of the artists involved does a tremendous job with their song placement.

Haasan Barclay’s “The Trip” was the first of the tracks to really stand out to me. I’ve been a huge fan of his unique sound for quite some time, and this song most certainly didn’t disappoint. The combination of the drums and guitar right off the bat offer some mellow feels, which Haasan soon after ties altogether with his wonderful vocals.

The second standout off of 617Sessions: Class of 2017 was Big Leano’s “Bowls”. We’re currently teetering on the edge of PACKULA Season, and with that being said, any new Big Leano is cause to drop everything you’re doing and listen. Following his most recent release “Broke”, Leano is only creating even more buzz for his next project. It’s safe to say he’s in his bag with “Bowls” and “Broke” being two of his hottest tracks to date.

In addition to Haasan and Leano, Vintage Lee is another artist that added her own hit into the mix. The production on “My Own” is straight up masterful and she flows effortlessly over it. “These days I been coolin’ all on my own!” sounds Lee during the chorus, and that shit has me hitting the Uzi shoulder harder than Lil Uzi Vert himself. She’s had herself a busy year, and with the successful release of her debut mixtape PiMP and even placement on NBA 2k18’s soundtrack, she’s proven time and time again that she’s here to stay.

Huge shoutout to the Boston Music Awards for coming up with their 617Sessions Series, as its already showcased a tremendous amount of up-and-coming talent from the area. Be sure to listen to some of the other featured artists too, as they’re all extremely talented and putting on for the city in their own respects.
