No matter what genre of music, I always seem to find myself most intrigued when an artist can communicate their personality within their voice. Following this very outline and doing so with an emphatic touch, I was put onto yet another rising Boston talent yesterday named Chelley Marie and her latest single, “Stuck On You”. And fair warning, you’re very, very likely to run this one back a few times after hearing it, so be prepared to have it stuck in your head for the rest of the day.
Now that I’ve warned you, it’s important to note that this single actually remixes Lil Kim and Lil Cease’s “Crush On You”. Although these may be some tough shoes to fill, I truly believe that Marie did her thing over the classic instrumental, performing to her strong potential with intoxicating cadences and flows comparable to those of Lil Kim in the way that they work together, bar after bar. With that being said, Chelley Marie will definitely be a name to look out for in the near future, so don’t sleep – listen to “Stuck On You” below.
