Frank Ocean Decides Not To Submit His Albums For Consideration in the 2017 Grammy Awards

Frank Ocean’s newest album, Blond(e), is a masterpiece. Personally, it is my favorite album to release this year. Many were slightly surprised to hear that Frank Ocean did not submit either of his albums, (Blond(e) or Endless) for consideration in the 2017 Grammy Awards. Though at the same time, this is exactly the type of thing Frank Ocean would do. Mr. Ocean did win two Grammys back at the 2013 Grammy Awards. He also has stayed very quiet since the release of his album. Not to mention there are many people in music and people who follow music that disregard the Grammy’s because of some of the decisions they have made in the past. No one has forgotten about the 2014 Grammy Awards when Macklemore and Ryan Lewis won the award for best hip-hop album of the year over Kendrick Lamar’s “good kid, m.A.A.d city”.  Also, hip-hop legends like Tupac, Nas, Notorious B.I.G., and Snoop Dog have never won a Grammy award. It would have been nice to see a true public Frank Ocean appearance after the release of his album. I would have also enjoyed rooting for his album while watching the Grammy Awards, but it isn’t too big of a deal. Usually the album I hope to win doesn’t even win the award, so maybe this is for the best.
